Over the past six weeks we’ve posted a series of posts that introduce the story of Freedom to Lead International. We’ve described FTL’s focus on changed leaders that result in healthier churches that impact communities with the gospel.
We’ve shared how integrating music works in leadership development. We’ve reported from the ground in Ethiopia as we interacted with leaders from whom we have so much to learn. And last week we talked about leaders being set free to lead others.
Today we are inviting you to “go beyond.”
I think it was Star Trek that coined the phrase, “where no man has gone before.” And while we don’t have a fancy spaceship reaching far-away galaxies, FTL is truly going where no one has gone before. Our niche is unique and pioneering.
We are living in what may be the most exciting era in church history. Unprecedented opportunities abound to expand the kingdom of God, and the church of Jesus Christ is advancing despite social, cultural, and spiritual forces.
- Imagine small groups of world-changers engaging in deep discussion about leadership and the church.
- Imagine biblical and cultural stories being told one to another.
- Picture dramas that make these stories come alive. And music created just for them belted out with joy.
- Imagine all of this happening without written words.
Leaders who are able to develop critical leadership competencies regardless of their level of literacy. Leaders who emerge from painful experiences and cultural limitations to be set free to lead their churches and communities.
When participants tell us, “this is changing our lives!” our response is, “what a privilege to be part of this special thing God is doing.”
When we first started this ministry in 2009, we didn’t envision all of this. We were simply trying to respond to what God was asking us to do. Now we want to be good stewards of the precious responsibility entrusted to us.
Will you also take this leap with us to “go beyond” where no one has gone before?
